NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Pam Theriot, OD, FAAO

Today, I'm a Dry Eye Specialist based in Louisiana. But, my passion for patients with dry eyes was born from a desire to heal my own red, irritated eyes. When I first started practicing, I was embarrassed to call myself an eye doctor.Ā  I couldn't wear my contact lenses past noon, and my eye makeup was always running down my face. So, I began to research answers for myself and my patients.

In 2018, I published Alleviate Dry Eye as a practical guide for patients, and in 2021 I was invited to be part of the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS). This year, I gave a TEDx talk, Seeing Clearly in a Screen-Filled World: 3 Tips to Preserve Your Vision, which was honored as an Editor’s Pick. These days, I love sharing what I’ve learned by lecturing, writing, and helping people understand and manage ocular surface disease.
