#119: Success Story with Janet

Aug 03, 2021

I want to share with you the story of my patient Janet.  Janet was one of the participants in my online course.  She was suffering with two separate incidents of styes during the pandemic shut down.  In her town, she was unable to see her eye doctor in person.  And, she found it very difficult to get the help she needed.

MEET JANET...

Janet is a 75-year-old woman who loves to perform theater.  She is known for her solo show performances.  During the pandemic, she took her shows on to the Zoom platform so she could continue to create and perform.

However, the styes were not only uncomfortable, but they were destroying her confidence.  After a frustrating online visit with her health care HMO, she turned to google for help.  Janet found my book, Alleviate Dry Eye.  She liked what she was reading but couldn’t find the motivation to implement the changes herself.  So, she joined the Alleviate Dry Eye course.

You see when I work with my patients either online or in the clinic, the first thing we do is build their personalized four step treatment plan. This is their daily guide they use to care for their eyes every single day.

4-SIMPLE STEPS FOR TEETH AND SKIN

We care for ourselves in lots of other areas of our lives. We use four things to take care of our teeth twice a day, every day since we were old enough to hold a toothbrush in our hand. We all know how to use toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss take care for our teeth.

As for our skin we use four things daily to protect it from the signs of aging. We use a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen to keep it looking beautiful and wrinkle free for as long as possible. But why aren't we using four simple steps to care for our eyes and our vision every day.

JANET BEFORE

When Janet first joined my course, she was distressed from being stuck in her apartment throughout the winter.  The air was so dry from the heaters and her eyes were miserable.  She was forced to use artificial tears almost every hour just to keep her eyes open and her vision somewhat clear.

She felt glued to the bottle of tears even though the relief it gave was short lived.  She tried to follow the advise of the doctors at the HMO to use warm compresses and lid scrubs.  But, she didn't know how long to do the compresses.  She didn't know how many she should do.  How hot should they be?  How could she keep it warm for longer than 2 minutes?  And, those lids scrubs irritated her eyes even more.

She was at her wits end.  She felt like she was following the doctors instructions, but she wasn't getting any better.  She was told, there wasn't anything else she could do about it.  She was losing hope, and considering that she would have to quit acting.  And, acting had been her passion for so many years.

 JANET AFTER

In the Alleviate Dry Eye course, there are three phases of healing.  After, we put together her daily treatment regimen, we then began working through the Your Health and Environment phases.  Janet implemented these simple lifestyle shifts and started to feel better.  Until she felt so good, she even forgot to put her drops in her eyes on a regular basis.

Now, Janet goes days without even thinking about her eyes.  She feels normal again.  She can wear her stage makeup and feel confident in front of the camera.

Janet was able to find the help she needed to get through this tough time with her eyes.  She developed a plan of care for her eyes that was not only ease to stick to, but also made her eyes feel good again.  She is confident in knowing the steps she needs to take when she gets into a sticky situation.  She can continue to take care of herself.

DON'T CALL "CUT" ON YOUR DREAMS

Janet was happy to share her story with you.  She would love to know that she helped someone else make the decision to get relief from the dry eyes that are holding them back from doing the things in live that they love.

The Alleviate Dry Eye Course helped Janet get back to acting.  I hope the same outcome for you.  If any part of Janet’s story resonated with you, I want to know about it.  Or, if you are ready to kick your dry eye drama to the curb like Janet did.  Leave a comment below.
