#209: Building Healthy Eye Habits: Your guide to Long-Term Vision Wellness

May 02, 2024

I hope you've already watched my latest video on cultivating good eye habits, if not, catch it here. After all, taking care of your eyes is paramount, right? Your eyes are irreplaceable, the only pair you'll ever have.

That's why I'm thrilled to introduce you to the Eye Care Essentials Course, designed to guide you through the daily steps necessary for optimal eye health. And here's the best part: you can get this course for free when you purchase the Eye Care Essentials Kit, complete with all the products you need for your daily eye care routine.

Now, let's dive into how we're going to turn these essential steps into lasting habits. Research suggests that if you commit to something for 28 consecutive days, it becomes ingrained as a habit. That's where tracking comes in handy.  Here are two great ways to easily incorporate your new habits into your current lifestyle.

#1) The Seinfeld Method

Take inspiration from Jerry Seinfeld. His goal was to become a comedian. So, he marked through the day on his calendar every time he told a joke. You can mark off each day you complete your eyecare routine. Try to keep the streak going for as long as possible. Simple, right?

I recommend performing your eyecare routine twice daily. So, grab any calendar you have on hand and cross out each day you complete your routine. To make it even easier, I've included a habit tracker inspired by the Seinfeld Method in my book, Alleviate Dry Eye. You can get a copy of the book as well as the accompanying workbook that contains the Seinfeld method calendar right here. And, the workbook will guide you through eight weeks of tracking to solidify your eyecare habits.

 #2) Sandwiching or Stacking Habits

This idea of building a new habit into an already existing routine is magic... Take something you already do regularly – like brushing your teeth – and pair it with your new eyecare routine. It's as simple as brushing your teeth in the morning and then completing your four Eyecare Essentials steps: using artificial tears, cleansing your lids, applying a warm compress, and taking a nutritional supplement.

By "sandwiching" the new routine together with an already ingrained routine, you get immediate success. Two essential routines, one seamless process. You can even stack your eyecare with another habit, like drinking water at your desk. Use your artificial tears while sipping on your water – it's that easy.

 CONCLUSION:

There you have it two simple yet effective ways to develop healthy eye care habits for a lifetime of clear and comfortable vision. Don't forget to download the Eye Care Essentials Course for FREE. Then, you'll want to purchase the products to use in your new routine. You can do that here

I'm excited to see your progress! Stay tuned for the next video, and remember, your eyes deserve the best care.
