I like to take the time at the beginning of the year to think about where I am going on purpose. A lot of times, we feel that life is just happening to us, but that is not the case. We are all living the life that we ourselves have created.
Take a minute to look back over 2021 and be thankful for all that you were able to create in your own life. There is one accomplishment in 2021 that I am most proud of (see #3 below). But, there were tons of accomplishments along the way as well. Celebrating your wins is part of living a full life. You put in the work to accomplish them, so don't hold back on giving yourself the credit you deserve. Here are 3 of my wins from this year:
Mascara is an important topic to American women. Did you know there is a study that shows that American women apply mascara to their eyelashes an average of 9 times per week? I think it is probably in every woman's makeup bag. And, it is so important to take it's ingredients into mind when we are talking about the long term health of our eyes.
Those of us who have dry eyes are already dealing with red and irritation. Many of my patients tell me that they just can't tolerate eye makeup anymore. They have suffered too many years of wearing makeup that is full of toxic ingredients.

The TFOS DEWS II report advises using 4 steps to care for your dry eyes daily:
1. Every day, the first step is to hydrate your eyes with an artificial tear.
2. The second step is to clean the lids and lashes.
3. The third step is to...
The holidays are upon us. For some of us, this news feels us with happiness and joy. For others, it fills us with stress and anxiety. I hate to admit to you that I am definitely the latter of these two types of people. It is not that I don't like Christmas. I love the decorations, parties, food, and gatherings. I just have stress about the gift-giving. #truth
Let's face it, there are some people in our lives that are hard to give to. And, I'm sure you have more people on your list each year. The growth of my list always seems exponential. How does that happen?
Let me present to you the 2019 Gift Giving Guide. You will find something on it for everyone. Even if you don't think that your friends and family have dry eyes, we all need to take care of our eyes. Take care of your...
